A Medicare Health Assessment is a preventive visit fully covered by Medicare to review your overall health and create a personalized care plan. The one-time "Welcome to Medicare" visit establishes a baseline, while annual Wellness Visits focus on updating your prevention strategy and screening for cognitive issues.

You have two main pathways for managing your Medicare claims: Original Medicare or a Medicare Advantage Plan. With Original Medicare, the government processes claims, while with Advantage plans, a private insurer handles all your coverage and claims.

Once you are enrolled in Medicare, you use it by understanding the different "Parts" that make up your coverage and knowing how to access the services each one provides. The process differs slightly depending on whether you are enrolled in Original Medicare or a Medicare Advantage Plan.
